An overcast morning though still pleasantly warm. I head out through south field, dancing round a Bloody Nosed Beetle meandering across the path. Red Bartsia and Red Clover line the very edges of the path, almost like they are rolling out the red carpet for me. Self Heal and White Clover also join the mass of flowers in the verges. The deep purple of the Self Heal and the creamy white of the White Clover contrasting nicely. Bristly Ox Tongue adorned with fluffy yellow flowers towers over the lower lying flowers below. The opposite side of the path a large patch of purple catches the eye, a patch of Bird Vetch, surrounded by Birds Foot Trefoil.

In saxon Field Scabious, Greater Knap Weed and Wild Parsnip tower over the plants surrounding them. Overhead Skylarks sing that tiny heart out. Through to oxeye where I spot some Ragwort covered in Aphids being farmed by Ants. The Ants busy themselves carrying the tiny bugs up and down the stem of the Ragwort. A large patch of Rest-Harrow is in full bloom, tiny pink flower scattered across the round of the training stems on the plant.

Through to see the cows in 10a, Brian the bull in doing rollie pollys in the grass looking like a giant dog. The other cows lie about in the grass taking a well-deserved rest. A Cattle Egret circles overhead, while a Magpie pecks at some bugs on one of the cows back.

Heading back up the light house road a large charm Goldfinch pass overhead coming to land in a Hawthorn, they chatter between themselves as they hop about the branches.
