A glorious sunny morning welcomes me to the park this morning. The droning noise of Bush Crickets hidden in the grassy verges follows me as I make my way through the car park. A Solider Beatle sit atop the leaf of a Bristly Ox Tongue. Nearby Self-Heal and Hawks Beard can also be seen in flower, with taller Wild Carrot towering over the rest.
Below the glass observation point, a raft of 40 or so Guillemots stretches out to sea, the sound of there chattering reaches me on the coast path as I walk along. A Marbled White Butterfly flutters across the path in front of me. While a Meadow Brown Butterfly bounces around the grass verge. Small and Lulworth Skippers flutter about the shorter turf, rising as one in a cloud of wings as I pass by.
The sounds of a repetitive screeching noise coming from somewhere near Tilly Whim ledge. Reaching the ledge and looking down I spot what I assume to be young Kestrel clinging to the edge of the cliff, it spots me and goes quite before taking off to find another perch along the cliff from which to scream from. While Observing the Kestrel a Peregrine Falcon zooms past below heading towards the castle.
Two Goldfinch bob across the path in front of me, coming to land on a Thistle at the very edge of the cliffs, the gold on the sides of their bodies catching the sun as they fly past. The downland below the mile makers in a patch work Centaury, Chalk Milkwort, Wild Carrot and Kidney Vetch.
Reaching the light house green, I head over to the cows who have recently been moved back into the bottom of field 10a. A Cattle Egret takes flight as I approach the field, circling the area until I leave. One cow uses the newly replaced post me and new apprentice Jason replaced yesterday as a scratching post. While another leans over to eat some Ivy on the other side of the wall.
