TONIGHT'S STARGAZING CANCELLED. Another wet grey morning, though the sun is trying its hardest to peak through the cloud cover, sometimes eventually wining and bathing the park in morning sun light, only to blotted out again by a dark rain cloud. A strong wind of around 20mph whips the tops of the trees into frenzy, while overhead a Raven struggles against the wind. Clad once again head to toe in waterproofs I brace myself against the wind and rain and head to the cliff top path.

Streams of gushing water line the edges of almost every path, the water cuts its own path through the gravel. At the caravan terrace water run of from the path above cascades down the cliff face. Pigeons line the steep path down pecking their way through the cut grass waiting to be collected either side of the path. the chattering of Goldfinch above alert me to their presence, gold marking catching the little sun light that breaks through.

Down below the cliffs huge waves roll in crashing in the cliffs and splashing high up the cliff face. A tiny Wren darts out from a bush darting quickly back in a nearby bush, to perch of a branch tail in the air shouting for all to hear.  A small flock of about 4 Linnets dart past in a rush to take cover in the scrub.

Halfway along the clifftop path I meet Zodwa checking the park run course for those crazy enough to take part this morning. She informs me of a drain blockage at the bottom of the carpark that makes up part of the course. I head back and grab some tools, arriving at the blockage I’m greeted with what can only be described at a lake. I poke around the dark water to find the blocked pipe, finding it eventually by putting my welly in the whole and water gushing over the top, though it did the trick and water start disappearing down the drain.

With a soggy foot I decide I defiantly dissever to come back to the office for a cup of tea. Not before popping into the bird hide to see the Great Tits, 6 of them this morning take it turns to feed on the peanut bird feeder.
