A strange sunlight to start the patrol, shafts of gold and silver reflecting off the sea, which was otherwise a dull blue. As I looked a Peregrine Falcon glided past, while 2 Ravens headed in the opposite direction.

A gorgeous Bullfinch on the highest twig of the Blackthorn, its pink breast showing superbly. As I watched a Common Whitethroat flew below and the greyish body of a Blackcap nipped in, to land alongside the Bullfinch. Just for a moment these two black capped birds visible in my binoculars.
Towards the downland the purple heads of the Dwarf Thistle are still in full bloom, fuzzy purple blobs on the ground, it is also known as the Stemless Thistle and Picnic Thistle!
A Red Admiral, was basking on the large green heart-shaped leaf of Black Bryony, the red and white flashes easily spotted.
