Aircraft vapour trails marked the patches of blue between cloud. Yarrow and Ox Eye Daisies flowers, in small numbers, decorated the car park. Under the shade of Holm Oak, scampered a Grey Squirrel. Later, at the Small Copse, acorns were found up the evergreens. It was fabulous seeing the reflected sunbeam stretching out from just off St. Catherine's Head. Both Swallows and Martins passed over the castle whilst Blue Tits were content near the wall protruding Valerian.

Under the shade of castle wood was a carpet of green, Iris leaves, Bramble, and Harts Tongue Fern. The latter having lines of spore on the underside of its solid frond. Flowerless Enchanters Nightshade was pale and drooping. There was hum of unseen insects, such that I suspected a colony nearby in the dappled shade. Stepping out onto the diagonal path there was more migrant flight. Both Honeysuckle and Hemp Agrimony flowers were fading path side. One black winged tipped Gannet flew east as a Greater Black Backed Gull flew west.

Upon the upper measured mile marker were a trio of Jackdaws with another perched upon the ladder. Upon the path were Fox leavings with clear signs of Blackberry consumption. Tamarisk held catkins on the cliff top with Golden Samphire flowers upon the wave cut platform. Sea Aster still flowered beside Tilly Whim steps. Landin upon the cliff tops was a vivid yellow taloned Peregrine Falcon.

In the gully depths Sycamore leaves turning paler. Dwarf Thistle and Centaury showed flowers. Chatter from offshore anglers drifted inland. It was a delighted to sea a few Common Toadflax flowers above the demo quarr. Ping Pong ball sized Woolly Thistle flowers were few, most having already drooped and commenced seed shedding. Field Scabious, Yellow Wort Bastard Toadflax, Quaking Oat Grass and Eyebright added colour thanks to the thin soils of the hay rake quarr. From California Farm came the call of a Cockerel and the sound of quarry machinery.

Heading back, two Raven flew west from the large copse, one call and the sound of wing beats. Resting upon Bracken beside a Field Maple was one Speckled Wood.
