A bright sunny morning greets me at the park this morning with a brisk chilly breeze. Heading through the woodland to look out to see I’m treated to a beautiful sunrise over the water, a bonus for waking up so early on a Saturday.  The sun sets the water below shining.

Down on caravan terrace Primrose are still providing a beautiful display of yellow flowers. A steady trickle of water still runs down the rock face, while above Blackthorn is in full bloom. The tiny flowers making it appear covered in snow. The familiar “chiff chaff” call of a Chiffchaff catches my attention coming form the top of a fluffy tipped Willow tree. Spotting the bird, it flits about the branches of the tree before disappearing in denser scrub.

Down the coast path, to the seaward side a small Wayfaring tree is just starting to open fresh leaves, while tight clusters of flower buds form on the tops of the branches. a little further along on the opposite side of the path I spot a lone purple flower adorns the vine of a Clematis.

At the glass observation point, Jackdaws are the main event this morning bursting from the cliff face in formation and flying away in sink. One Fulmar performs its ritual of soaring in and out of the cliffs in near perfect loops. Five Herring Gulls form a raft on the water near the bottom of the cliffs. Guillemots our noted due to there distinctive absence.

Heading up the diagonal path, the sweet coconut scent of Gorse in full blooms fills the air, while the light chitter chatter of bird of to my left catch my attention. Five Greenfinch chase each other around the tops of the blooming Gorse bushes in pursuit of breakfast.
