Another wet morning, rain clouds stretch across the park as far as I can see. I head through south field while the rain instantly soaks my waterproofs. Birds seems to be taking cover in the scrub the only ones braving the weather a few Carrion Crows pecking around the bottom of a hay bail. A Raven flies across the field battling the rain and wind.

A small flock of Goldfinch brave the weather before deciding against it and taking cover in the nearest patch of scrub. The meadow now a palette of muted browns and greens, the bright white of a lone Oxeye Daisy demands you look it. The flowers’ petals looking beaten up by the weather its bright white colour still stands out.

Old Mans Beard covered the top of the scrub covered in fluffy seeds giving the impression of frost topped scrub. I pass some of the Hereford cattle in oxeye meadow all seemingly unaffected by the weather and continue to happily graze.

Heading across the sleeper bridge and over the top of field 10 the rain slams into my face like thousands of tiny needles making me pull my hood closer round my face. Heading on the more sheltered light house road I stop and look over the bridge on the inland side. the tree and scrub below quite and still, then a slight rustling at the back grabs my attention as a doe Roe Deer pokes her head out from her sheltered spot under a tree to nibble on some Bramble leaves.

I head back up and pop into the bird hide, Great Tits take it in turns to brave the weather to feed on the peanut feeder, while a Robin watches on the shelter of a Hawthorn.
