Fortunately, this morning’s mist was not around for last nights Seabird Boat Trip. That meant Puffins, Swifts, Pergerine Falcon, Shag, Cormorants, a Gannet and Kittiwakes were viewed. As the mist rolled in from the west the Lighthouse was only partly seen beside the gully.

A brief moment of clarity enabled me to simply observe a distant foolish and inconsiderate cyclist ascend the coast path at Anvil Point. The term "Natural selection" came to mind....

Our Stevenson Screen is still on its way from Australia, at the remains of its base were the white flowers of Hedge Bedstraw. Honeysuckle bloomed amongst the leaves of Blackthorn which itself show sloe in places.  Upon the downland were the yellow flowers of Lady’s Bedstraw, Yellow Wort (PJ’s Hilt Wort / Piercing Wort) and Durlston’s first Ragwort flowers.

By Tilly Whim, a feint same came from Tamarisk flowers. The subtle pale flowers of Woodsage were beside the coastal drystone wall. Inland equally pale flowers of Wild Madder clambered amongst Gorse needles. Red Valerian bloomed from the cliff face whilst Thrift had gone over.

Despite the cool and sunless conditions, a Marbled White flew past the demo quarr and Skippers we also seen amongst the grass. An unidentified male Bushcricket was briefly seen upon a Winter Heliotrope leaf by the Small Copse.

Water droplets brought out the detail of a spider’s web amongst the downland. Meanwhile, under castle wood tree cover, patches of moisture made Harts Tongue Fern’s solid fronds glisten.

Upon caravan terrace I was delighted to find flowers upon two stems of Common Toadflax, whilst leaf whorls were all those other specimens had. Nearby the delicate white flowers of Enchanters Nightshade were amongst shade. Whilst Hypericum, flowers were upon the terrace, below Dell Bridge a clump held berries also.
