Driving into the park this morning I spot a young Carrion Crow hopping along a wall, a few stray grey fluffy baby feathers still visible. It disappears into the scrub as I pass.

I head down to the great globe, passing the Park Run volunteers setting up for this morning run. The globe is surrounded in a halo of fluffy pink flowering Red Valerian and bright yellow Charlock. Out to sea a few sailing boats float on by on the calm sea, the sun just about brakes through the cloud cover.

Along the top of the cliff top Wild Parsnip has replaced the Sea Thrift as the thrift goes over. Below the sound of hundreds of Guillemots on the water and the ledge all talking and arguing amongst themselves floats up of the sea breeze. Amongst the hundreds of guillemots floating on the water, two Razor Bills can be seen, distinguishable by there chunky beak and darker colour. At the very bottom of the cliff a rock that sticks out to sea is covered in Guillemots taking a break from their nest, a Shag sits right in the middle of all the smaller birds looking quite out of place. Its long neck tucked into itself possibly having a nap.

I scramble up the steep hill to the light house avoiding the coast path, where I spot a lone Pyramidal Orchid, the purple flower standing out against the short turf. I then head along the light house road listening to the sound of the birds singing down in the gully. A small Wren hops about a Hawthorn as I pass tiny tail waggling in the air. Along the edges of the road Field Bindweed creeps its way round the bottom of the turf. This small white flowers with pale pink accent a firm favourite of the school group I took out yesterday, one child saying, “it’s like something out of fairy tale Hannah, I want some in my garden!”, I didn’t like to mention how bindweed is the most annoying weed out there for a gardener.

I head back to the centre after stopping to admire a Bee Orchid along the edge of the road. Once I reach the centre, I spot an adult Magpie with one of its young on the roof. The baby shouting at its parent demanding breakfast.
